My Judaism

In my youth, I had no idea what it meant to be Jewish. Not in a cultural nor religious sense.

At home there was a veil of secrecy surrounding murdered family members. Both my parents were traumatized war children, they hardly talked about that.

Being Jewish was synonymous with suffering. I identified with it. Only later did I see the beauty of Judaism, the religion and culture.

Over the years, I have accepted and embraced my Jewish background.
